Ultrasound Profiles

Well, today is 33 weeks and 2days. We had another wonderful report from the perinatologist this afternoon! Baby A measures 35 wks 2days at 5lb 8oz and Baby B 34wks 1day at 4lb 14oz!!! Both are measuring ahead which is an absolute blessing. We did not see their profiles today BUT we did see both precious babies last week. Here are the pictures of our little stallions.

Great Report

Just returned from the OB. It amazes me to get such great reports every visit. My blood pressure was lower today than it has been the entire pregnancy. They attribute it to working from home. I attribute it to our Heavenly Father and the peace that He is giving me as we get closer and closer to meeting these precious baby boys.

So astoundingly grateful for the covenant of marriage. Thrilled that two of our dear friends will enter that tomorrow. May it be as wonderful for them as it is for me and Adam.

Lord, praise your name for your never ending faithfulness!

32 Weeks

Where do I begin??? It was a dream of ours to make it to 32 weeks and we have! Last Friday the boys measured 4lb 8oz and 4lb 5oz and they are growing approximately a half of a pound a week! Our hope is that this Friday, they will be close to 5lbs each! Our perinatologist commented last appointment that he wished all twin pregnancies looked this good. That was so encouraging for us to hear!

I survived my first week of working from home and feel better now that I have slowed down! Fortunately, I have amazing coworkers/friends that are willing to come to our home for meetings. It has helped my sanity tremendously to have love and support of friends calling and stopping by! The girls in the neighborhood showed up for study on Thursday and came with food and gifts in tow. The outflow of support has blown us away!

Their activity inside of me is quite entertaining to watch and they sure do know their Daddy's voice!

Next goal: 34 weeks

First Contractions - Now Homebound

Last Thursday, at 30 weeks and 2 days, I woke up to contractions at 3am. I did not self diagnose them or even become worried until the pains were happening every 45 minutes around 11am. Fortunately, Adam and I had both pre-elected to take a day of vacation on Thursday so our morning was a little slower than normal (chocolate chip pancakes and down time). We could assess the situation before running off to our "Baby Moon" in Dahlonega, GA at the Long Mountain Lodge Bed and Breakfast: http://www.longmountainlodge.com/.

I called the doctor and they insisted we come immediately to their office by the hospital in case we needed to be admitted. That is when I took the situation seriously. My OB was on call at the hospital and was called in to see me. They boys were well and I was instructed to work from home the rest of the pregnancy. One may get excited about this idea but the second we left the hospital, my tears began. Adam and I drove straight to the b&b since it was only 45 minutes from Northside Forsyth Hospital (sister hospital to Northside Atlanta). It was amazing for our hearts, my health, our centering with the Lord and our marriage!!! I recognized that it was my pride and competency that had been challenged by these new orders and the Lord quickly broke me of that on our getaway.

Thankful that the boys arrival and length of life has already been determined. Today marks 31 weeks for them and we are all feeling strong. Praising God!

30 Weeks and Counting!

Yesterday we hit the mark of 30 weeks! Only 5-8 to go. We couldn't praise God enough for getting us this far with the boys. Today their heartbeats were 142 and 150.

We chose to represent the boys to be during our annual pumpkin carving. Can't wait to see them in costume a year from now!

Childbirth Class Complete!

Today we spent 7 hours in a Multiples Childbirth class offered through Northside Hospital. Pretty valuable information! We have two more classes tomorrow (Baby Essentials and Nursing Multiples). The boys were quite active during class! Wonder if they knew we were talking about their entry into the world?

Yesterday the perinatologist gave us excellent reports on the boys health. One is 3lbs 9oz and the other 3lbs 6oz. They will continue to grow around a half of a pound a week at this point! Both were "practice breathing" which is a really healthy sign at 29wks 3 days.

Last night made strides in the nursery and then watched a movie. Valances - check. Cribs up with the mattresses and bedding. Adam started building a ladder for their blankets and verified the stain color we chose for the letters to spell their names above each crib.

It is becoming more real by the moment!!!

29 Weeks, 2 Day and Counting

We sit here tonight visibly watching the boys move inside of me. Days like today, I am not sure we will make it to 37 weeks but I sure hope for their development sake we do. We couldn't be more excited about their future entry into the world and we will continue to pray for God's perfect timing. Excited to have you on this journey with us!!!
